TechColumbus
| | | Phone: | (614) 487-3700 | Year Established: | 2000 | Main Contact: | Ted Ford, President | | Company Description | TechColumbus was formed through the merger of the Columbus Technology Council, recognized as the leading membership organization for tech-based and tech-enabled businesses in central Ohio, and the Business Technology Center, regarded as one of the country’s best technology business incubators. The Ohio State University’s Science and Technology Campus Corporation (Scitech) is a closely linked partner operating under the TechColumbus umbrella. TechColumbus' membership has grown to over 260 organizations representing approximately 100,000 employees. Each year, more than 100 educational, best practice sharing, and networking programs are presented to the technology and business community. Additionally, TechColumbus represents its members on multiple public policy issues focused on creating a more conducive business growth environment. In 2000, the CTC was one of six regional organizations to form Ohio's IT Alliance, an Edison Center created and administered by the Ohio Department of Development. This initiative coincides with a number of significant regional developments including the expansion of the Business Technology Center and the realization of Ohio State's Science and Technology Campus to provide real estate and facility support to advance technology business development connected to university research. In 2001 the council launched the Reservoir Venture Fund, an early stage venture capital fund. | |
